Michael Scoggins
Michael Scoggins lives and works in the Hudson Valley, NY. He graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with MFA Painting in 2006 having studied BA (Hons) Studio Art and Political Science at Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg. He has exhibited prolifically, with work placed in collections including Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Museum of Modern Art, New York; and Telfair Museum of Art, Savannah. Scoggins is known for his oversized text-based work on paper that explores popular culture, politics and the self. His ongoing series for PROJECT PAPYROPHILIA is unequivocal, revealing the artist’s forthright position in response to our extraordinary times.
